Friends Against Scams

During this year’s Neighbourhood Watch Week in June, we encouraged our members to take part in a ‘Friends Against Scams’ short (15 minute) on line awareness training session.

Neighbourhood Watch are working with the National Trading Standards Scams Team to highlight the issue of scams, which affect the lives of millions of people across the UK.

Friends Against Scams has been created to tackle the lack of scam awareness by providing information about scams and those who fall victim to them. This enables communities and organisations to understand scams, talk about scams and cascade messages throughout communities about scams prevention and protection.

Friends Against Scams encourages communities and organisations to take the knowledge learnt and turn it into action.

Pictured are four trustees of Bedford & District Neighbourhood Watch with their certificates, having completed the 15 minute training session.

Anybody can join Friends Against Scams and make a difference in their own way. It’s not too late. A link can be found on Bedford & District’s Neighbourhood Watch website at
