Make sure river water is not your last drink this Christmas

Alert message sent 15/12/2017 15:09:00

Information sent on behalf of Beds Fire & Rescue Service

Dear Citizen ,

If you are planning on celebrating this Christmas/New Year with a drink or two please take care by Bedfordshire’s rivers, lakes, canals and other areas of water. There are many dangers involved with open water and the chances of falling in are much higher if you are under the influence of alcohol. When celebrating this festive season Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service would urge people to plan a route home away from water where possible and also warn against the dangers of encouraging others to swim in the water, ‘If your mates on the beer, keep them well clear’. Please find more information about water safety on our website http://bit.ly/2nJrTRF
