3 burglars caught and arrested in Kempston today

Alert message sent 09/04/2018 22:09:00

Information sent on behalf of Bedfordshire Police

Dear resident,

We just wanted to make you aware of a bit of great policing and team work between members of the public, the Community policing team and our section officers today (09/04/18) that resulted in 3 burglars being arrested in Kempston. A concerned neighbour called us to report 3 males breaking and entering a neighbours property. Local community officers and an armed response unit were close by and found the 3 males getting into a vehicle near the scene which made off from officers. A pursuit of the offenders took place which resulted in them abandoning the vehicle and making off on foot over the A421 and into fields. Officers and a trained dog were able to eventually find and arrest all 3 offenders and locate the stolen goods which had been thrown from the vehicle during the pursuit. The vehicle was also found to have been stolen from a burglary the night before.

As you can imagine we were all very happy with the end result which hopefully will see 3 burglars off the streets for a while!

Always report any suspicious behaviour on 101 or 999 if a crime is in progress.

kind regards,

Your community Policing team
