Firstly I’d like to thank all those who came to visit us at our Op Beneke Police surgeries in Marston Moretaine and Cranfield. Turnout was fairly low however given last Saturday was BBQ weather I can understand why! Concerns centred round the burglaries in the area and the lack of a Police presence was also mentioned.
In response to this I’d like to give you a snap shot of some of the work I do. I cover 3 towns and 12 villages. I am based out of Biggleswade Police Station however you may see me parked up somewhere using my lap top or mobile making updates. I spend the vast majority of my time in Marston and Cranfield. I have recently carried out Speed Checks in both areas as well as Husborne Crawley. I visit victims of crime and residents who are having issues with neighbours. I am often abstracted from my usual duties, taking part in Operational Orders around the county. I work with partner agencies such as housing authorities and social services. I respond to incidents such as helping with road accidents or missing persons – it’s true what they say – no two days are the same!
Please be reassured that residents can contact me via 101 or replying to my Beds Alerts.
Crimes in the area over the last week or two have dropped slightly however we have seen Theft From Motor Vehicles (including number plates) and thefts from out buildings and sheds. There has been another burglary dwelling in Bedford Road, Marston, recently too.
As always I would ask that you are mindful of your own security routines and if you would like any further advice please do not hesitate to get in touch with us.
