Increased Police presence and stopping knife enabled crime

Alert message sent 15/05/2018 12:12:00

Information sent on behalf of Bedfordshire Police

Good morning,

You may see the local Community Team out and about in the evenings in your areas, this is in response to concerns from the Community of an increased rise in youth violence involving knives. We will be out to robustly deal with such offenders but welcome the opportunity to meet you whilst we are out and about, so please do come and say hello. If you are aware of any information relating to youth violence, be it a neighbour, someone you know of locally or you are worried about a family member who may be mixing with those involved in knife enabled crime or out carrying a knife you can report it via a number of different ways.

Crimestoppers - completely anonymous, freephone 0800 555 111 or online

Police  - in an emergency 999 or in a non-emergency 101 or report it online at

We do not wish you to be caused any alarm but we do wish to keep our Communities safe and look to prevent incidents where we can.

If we don't hear from you we hope to meet you whilst out and about. Look out for our updates on Twitter @NorthBedsPolice throughout our shifts.

Kind regards,

Community North Urban Policing Team
