The Herbert Protocol

Alert message sent 23/05/2018 18:11:00

Information sent on behalf of Bedfordshire Police

Good afternoon,

I don’t know if any of you are aware of The Herbert Protocol, it is a national scheme designed to improve the policing response for individuals who may suffer from dementia, Alzheimer’s disease or memory problems if they go missing. A way we do this is by gathering information on the individual for example; description, photo, favourite places, usual habits and/or patterns etc., this information is stored on the missing persons database. Meaning if an individual does go missing we hold all the relevant information to start searching straight away.

If you would like more information regarding The Herbert Protocol then please let me know as we have leaflets which we can email to you.

If you would like to make a referral for The Herbert Protocol for someone you know then please email-
