Information sent on behalf of Bedfordshire Police

Dear Residents
Another busy week in the Cranfield, Marston and Woburn area.

I’ve spent some time in Aspley Heath this week in relation to bogus traders, remember its ok to say NO if someone turns up at your door uninvited suggesting you need some work done to your home. On this occasion 1 male was already on the roof the other male at the door – they can appear very charming and helpful but in reality they are just ripping you off charging extortionate prices for shoddy – if any- work.  If you are ever in doubt please call 101 at the time or contact me for advice.  I’m also sad to say that a stained glass window has been damaged in Aspley Guise.  If you think you may be able to shed light (no pun intended!) on any of these issues please do let me know.
There’s been a burglary during daylight hours in Marston Moretaine, on this occasion jewellery was stolen.  Top drawers and jewellery boxes are the first things offenders will head for, keep precious items in unobvious places, in other rooms or ideally in a safe.  If you would like further advice please get in touch.  A positive outcome from this incident though has resulted in neighbours getting together to discuss ways in which they can look out for each other.  I’ve been asked along to their next meeting to give support and advice.
I’ll be bringing the Mobile Police Station to Cranfield next week.  Please do take the opportunity to come along to discuss any concerns or queries you may have.  I’ll have free personal hand held alarms, purse bells and other crime prevention material on hand.  I’ll be at Budgens on Saturday 6th April between 2-3pm then I’ll move over to Portnal Place between 3-4pm.
Kind regards
PCSO 3659 Gill Richardson
