Information sent on behalf of Bedfordshire Police

Sometimes this job just brings absolute satisfaction. For example, in the last few days, information has been received in relation to a vehicle being used by a nominal linked to County drug Lines activity in Bedford. Myself and my colleague PCSO 6749 Hughes have developed this intelligence, by conducting checks and sharing the information with our intelligence departments, response teams and CCTV. Today we have gone out on patrol in the Queens Park, Harpur and Town Centre areas with the aim to locate the vehicle and attempt to get it stopped. After seeing it initially in Queens Park but being unable to spin round in time to catch up with it, PCSO Hughes saw it a short time later on Bromham Road. This time we managed to stay behind it, PCSO Hughes driving the marked Police vehicle while I did a running commentary over the airwaves and directed officers to the area. The driver was trying to lose us around the town, but our persistence paid off as officers blocked the vehicle as it came out onto Castle Road. The male driving was indeed the county lines nominal linked to the original intelligence. He was arrested on suspicion of TWOC (taken without consent.) But it doesn’t stop there. There are further offences that are being looked at relating to drug supply and the much bigger picture. The feeling of satisfaction having obtained and developed the intel and then proactively searched for the vehicle which has ended in a great result is a truly great feeling and reminds me of why I do this job. Ultimately to get individuals who are causing great harm to communities off the street.
