Update regarding Houghton Conquest incident 26062019

Alert message sent 01/07/2019 13:29:00

Information sent on behalf of Bedfordshire Police

Following increased concern within Houghton Conquest, we are able to update our previous Press Release with the following:

We were called just before 2pm on Wednesday 26th June 2019 to reports of an assault in Broadway, Houghton Conquest.

A group of men turned up at an address in a number of vehicles, one of which was a silver Land Rover Discovery.

One of the men then attacked the victim, a man in his 20s, with an axe, causing serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The offenders then left the scene.

Any witnesses or anyone who has any other information is asked to contact police on 101 or via the online reporting centre on our website, quoting reference 231 of Wednesday.

You can also contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.

Your Local Community Policing Team is aware of concerns around the incident within the Community and rumours circulating around the village which are largely inaccurate. We are unable to elaborate any further at this stage, as this is a live investigation and in consideration of those involved in the incident.

We will be in the village this afternoon, near to the school, from around 1500 hours if you want to come and speak to us about your concerns.
