Information sent on behalf of Bedfordshire Police

Hello all,

We've been very busy over the past few weeks in and around Bedford , especially in our ward areas of Goldington and Newnham, so thought it would be great to fill you all in!

We attended a fundraising event on Goldington Road at the weekend. We had a great time meeting everyone and even had lots of children (and adults!) sit in the police car to use the blue lights and sirens. It was also a great chance to speak to residents to hear of any concerns or any information to help assist us with our community priority.

We stepped up patrols in certain areas, including the allotments on BRUNEL ROAD and CHURCH LANE, near and around BURY COURT and ST MARYS church, due to these locations being chosen as areas to focus on for ASB. We had a couple of stop searches relating to S1 PACE, which allows us to search anyone suspected of having specific items on them - these could be items used to commit criminal damage or used to commit theft/burglary!

We also uncovered a cannabis factory in TURNPIKE WAY. All plants and equipment have been dismantled and destroyed and an investigation is underway! Watch this space for more details!

Hope you are all well!

Kind regards,

Laura
