Alert message sent 08/09/2019 15:08:00

Information sent on behalf of Bedfordshire Police

Good Afternoon,

I hope that you are well. As you might know I have the joy of being dedicated community officer for Barton-Le-Clay, Sundon and Streatley. After being in the role for a while and review of my area I have noticed that by far the most ASB related calls come from Sundon and they are all related to Off Road Motorbikes using Sundon Pit.

Firstly, Thank you for all your calls, keep them coming, either via 101, webchat or via online reporting tool. I need them to be able to direct the resources to the pits when they are most required. Please rest assured that each and every of your calls is reviewed by myself and by my Operation Meteor colleagues.

You, are probably wondering what difference can one bobby make, when op meteor didn't managed to stop the issues as yet. Please, let me tell you what I'm planning with regards to this.

Firstly. I am trying to establish the land owner and then organise meeting with him, council and op meteor colleagues to see what can we do to make the access to the pit more difficult for the illegal bikers.
Secondly (and this is already happening) I am reviewing every log created to establish any registration numbers or details of the vehicles bringing the off road bikes to area. So far just checking the logs from last month I have identified 6 vehicles from August and September. Although I cannot legally do anything to the vehicles that bring the bikes to pits. (as in seizure) I can issue their owners with community protection notices. However I have to send them warning letters first. 6 of those warning letters were sent this week.
Thirdly you will see more patrols and more focus in the area from our community teams and op Metoer teams. Please, understand that unfortunately we cannot always be there straight after the call, but we will strive to come any whenever possible.

Lastly, Please let your neighbours know about Bedsalert. So that I can keep all of you updated.

with kindest regards
