Cranfield Marston and Woburn Area Update

Alert message sent 12/09/2019 13:09:00

Information sent on behalf of Bedfordshire Police

Dear Residents
It’s been a busy time for us over the summer holidays but it seems autumn is now approaching – let’s hope things slow down a little!  I’ve been out and about over the last few weeks visiting some of the smaller villages with my colleague PC Dagley who covers the Ampthill and Flitwick area.  The PCSO for this area has taken a year’s career break, we will miss him but he will be back!  I’ve also been working with our Housing Association colleagues and our Watch Group Coordinator Juliet Wright in relation to anti-social behaviour in the Cranfield and Marston area.  We are always looking to recruit new members for our village Street Watch and Speed Watch groups, if you are interested and can spare a couple of hours a month please get in touch with me and I can give you more information.
In general terms Burglary Dwelling and Vehicle Crime has fallen however ‘other’ thefts seem to be on the increase.
Brogborough saw a mini crime wave occur in just one day where by an offender targeted  10 properties  (3 ‘successful‘ break ins and 7 attempts were reported, some of these were found by our attending Response Officers).  Sheds, garages and out buildings were targeted and a few door handles were tried too but thankfully there were no house burglaries reported.  Response Officers were quickly on scene as well as our SOCO officers.  It is understood following this quick response there are lines of enquires for our Crime Investigators to follow up on.
It’s a timely reminder to review your home’s security measures, tomorrow (13/09/19) I shall be in Ridgmont between 2/4pm around the Rose & Crown – High Street.  I’ll be in the Panda so hopefully you won’t miss me.  Please come along and let me know if you have any concerns, I will also have free crime prevention literature/advice, purse bells, personal alarms and much more.
I shall be meeting Parish Council representatives next week at our quarterly meeting at HQ.  At this meeting we will be discussing local issues and recent crime figures.  From this we will decide what Priorities I will focus on over the forthcoming months.  Please remember you can voice your concerns via your local Parish Council or through  our Survey ‘Have Your Say’, I have attached the link below.
As always if I can be of any assistance please do get in touch.
Bye for now
PCSO 3659 Gill Richardson
