Speeding Update in the North and West of Luton

Alert message sent 12/09/2019 17:12:00

Information sent on behalf of Bedfordshire Police

Good Afternoon,
After my last message regarding speeding in the North and West of Luton. I thought I would give you a quick update of our progress.
Within the last week the North and West PCSO’s have carried out 5 different speed gun enforcement sessions in Bramingham, Leagrave, Lewsey and Limbury. As a result we have measured the speed of 871 vehicles with 24 being caught going over the speed limit as a result  these drivers will all receive warning letters in the post over the next week. We will continue to carry out regular speed gun enforcement sessions over the coming and weeks and months.
Speeding is one of our  priorities that the community of the North and West of Luton has chosen as a concern and we are trying our upmost to ensure that we can try and tackle the issue. It’s a known fact that speeding vehicles don’t only cause a hazard to themselves but as well as other vehicles and nearby pedestrians. Speed Limits are in place to ensure the safety of all road users.
