Our next Community Surgery and Curious Burglary MO update

Alert message sent 22/09/2019 07:45:00

Information sent on behalf of Bedfordshire Police

Good Morning,

You are receiving this message as a resident within the Ampthill, Flitwick and Silsoe Community Policing Area, to keep you informed of the current levels of crime within your Community and up to date with the latest news.

Whilst reviewing our daily crimes, it was noted that there was a curious Burglary on our area. Observed on CCTV and scared away by a Burglar Alarm, the offenders accessed the victims back garden and removed the locking barrel of the patio doors and covered the window frame in bleach. This 'Modus Operandi' is known to us but uncommon.

The obvious value here, in this story, is the effectiveness of the CCTV to capture the evidence and the Burglar Alarm to scare the suspects away. Further consideration to your locking mechanisms as an added layer of security to prevent suspects accessing your home should be given, and we would recommend improved locks approved by Secured by Design ( https://www.securedbydesign.com/).

Our next Community Surgery is being held at TESCO in FLITWICK on Saturday 31st August between 1400 and 1600 hours. Come and speak to us about your concerns, receive crime prevention advice, learn about our partners and help shape how we addresses local issues by completing the ‘Have Your Say’ survey

Kind Regards,

PC5832 Aaron Dagley
