For your information .

Dear all,

May I take this opportunity to pass on my huge thanks to everyone for supporting our community engagement event at Raynham Way Community centre on Sunday.

It goes without saying, that organising an event of this size requires 100's of hours of planning and preparation, but the response by our community yesterday made it all very worthwhile. They came out in their hundreds, and braved the odd shower to show their support, for what we as a group are trying to achieve in this part of Luton.

From the feedback I received throughout the afternoon, it was clearly evident that having so many of you in attendance, created not just a community spirit, but an actual feeling of belonging to 'our' community.

I must apologise if I didn't come round and offer my personal thanks to you all yesterday, but as you may have noticed, I was otherwise engaged for the whole afternoon.

Although the event was planned as a community event, we also used the time to help raise funds for two local, and very worthy causes, Keech Hospice, and Luton Town Ladies FC.

Once we have collated everything, we will be planning a cheque presentation with both groups at the Metro Bank in Luton.

So from our Beds Police cadets, to our Community Policing Team, officers from Stopsley Fire and Rescue, Dave from RING, and everyone of you who turned up yesterday, my heartfelt thanks to you all.
