Information sent on behalf of Neighbourhood Watch

North Wales Neighbour Hood Watch Association

The  nature of Neighbourhood Watch is changing , it is no longer just about petty thefts , break-ins  and stolen vehicles.   There is more isolation of people, cyber-crime and fraud. Neighbours do not know one another and use the internet to correspond. They travel greater distances. Hence the setup of the North Wales Neighbourhood Watch Steering Group which has members in areas such as Anglesey, Conwy, Gwynedd, Denbighshire, Wrexham and Flintshire who sign up to OUR WATCH, a national organisational network supported by other agencies like Trading Standards, Fire and Rescue, and Victims support. The Coop movement sponsor the Neighbourhood Watch Network.
Are you interested in the Community, well being and safety? The Steering Group would like to invite volunteers and helpers to work with them throughout North Wales. They meet 3 times a year in person or by Internet conference. We are particularly looking for a new treasurer, and secretary to replace those retiring. In addition, anyone who has IT skills, i.e. spreadsheet and data base or marketing knowledge and fundraising experience would also be welcome.
I am sure there are people out in our communities who have excellent skills and talents who could share them with the North Wales Neighbourhood Watch and become part of our Steering Group.
I look forward to hearing from you
Yvonne Johns. Chairperson
