Crime prevention - burglaries in the area

Alert message sent 22/01/2020 07:50:00

Information sent on behalf of Bedfordshire Police

Good Morning,

Over last few weeks we have had 6 burglaries in Manor road, Church road, Osborn road area of the town.

Please rest assured that my colleagues and I are doing our best to find the perpetrators.
We do need your help though.

On most of the offences entry was gained via rear windows and secluded side windows & patios.
I'll be set up outside Ramsey Manor school tomorrow (23/01/2020) from 07:30 - 09:00 and on Friday (24/01/2020 from 15:00 - 16:00  giving away free property marking pens and burglary prevention advice. I know that some of you will be at work and please rest assured that I'll be available at later times next week (to accommodate those working during the day).
Also you can always stop me when you see me on patrol either on foot or in my patrol car as i always have some crime prevention stuff on me

Meantime please follow those few simple steps to make yourself less likely to be burgled.

- Check your house for insecurities prior to leaving ( close windows, doors, side gates )
- Get some timer light switches on in rooms upstairs when you are away from home
- Ask you neighbours to keep an eye out when going on holiday (they might alert police to anything suspicious giving us better chance of catching the offenders red handed)
- Keep your valuables and car keys out of sight

-also please photograph your jewellery and receipts and keep those pictures saved somewhere in the cloud (it will make your life much easier if you ever will have to claim your insurance  following a burglary and pictures from the cloud will be there even if your devices will be stolen from home)

Above all look after each other. If you see that your neighbours are out and there is unknown car nearby or you see people you don't know, please note as many details as you can as this can help us to lock the offenders out.

kind regards
