Alert message sent 19/05/2020 14:11:00

Information sent on behalf of Bedfordshire Police

Good afternoon dear residents,
I would like to inform you about the results we have achieved in relation to Drug Priorities, thanks to the Community and the people who have shared information with us about suspicious activity in LENTRAL LUTON, BISCOT and BURY PARK.
For the last 30 days we have made numerous arrests of people who we suspect in drug dealing, people who had illegal Class A cocaine and crack cocaine in their possession, Class B cannabis.
In BURY PARK a male was arrested after suspicion of having illegal Class A drugs in his possession. The male driver in question was subject of a traffic stop, where he tried to run the officers over and escape with the vehicle. He was physically restrained due to not wheeling to comply with the officer’s orders and was arrested. The other two males from the same vehicle managed to escape on foot, but were arrested a week later. In the vehicle officers found 50-60 packages of Class A crack cocaine illegal drugs, two knives, 15 phones, 2 bank cards, taser torch. A warrant was authorised for searching the house, which turned up to be used for growing cannabis, 250-300 plants of cannabis were seized. The same male driver was arrested two more times from the same officers who originally arrested him the first time for similar offences.
In BURY PARK, armed response officers arrested a male in front of his house where officers found large quantity illegal Class A drugs and cash.
In BISCOT after 6-7 months of intelligence gathering several males were arrested in suspicion for intention to supply illegal drugs. In the operation there were two houses being searched where police dog unit was involved. In the houses we found illegal drugs, scales and other items related with the intention to supply illegal drugs, along with cash, phones etc…
All this was possibly thanks to the Community who was wheeling to share information with Officers.
We have found numerous houses used for cannabis grow where we have seized hundreds and hundreds of plants which were meant to be sold on the streets, but we prevented all this thanks to the teamwork of the Community and Luton Officers. We have chased and arrested numerous individuals, who were trying to avoid justice.
On top of all this we managed to conduct COVID19 patrols and response on COVID19 calls where on some occasions there were fines being issued to people who refused to cooperate and help us minimise the risk of COVID19 spreading.

I will keep you updated in future with some positive news and the jobs we are dealing with.

I would like to say a BIG THANK YOU for all your help and trust.

Please call us on 101 or 999 for emergency if needed.
Kind regards,
