North Rural Community Priority Update

Alert message sent 16/07/2020 21:36:00

Information sent on behalf of Bedfordshire Police

Good evening,
Well June went quickly. So here is an update on the Community Priority that is High Visibility Policing and Crime Reduction in Relation to Burglary.
Unfortunately, there was a large increase in Residential Burglaries in the area with 29 being recorded in June. This is compared to 18 in the same period in 2019, a rise of 61%.
However, Non-Residential Burglaries saw a drop to only 4 from 13. A decrease of 69%.
Great Denham was the worst hit area with 16 Burglaries reported to us. Although 9 of these were Attempted Burglaries where entry was not gained. A male was identified and arrested for a number of these offences. The large amount and quality of the CCTV in the area was very useful to us. So, thank you to those of you that made theirs available.
I think I mentioned in my last update that we will be looking to restart our Community Engagement Events. This hasn’t quite come into effect yet, but I will update you once we are happy that we can do so whilst adhering to Covid-19 regulations.

Once again, Crime Prevention leaflets are attached. You may get some ideas on home security.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. But always report incidents on line at https://www.bedfordshire.police.uk/report/Report or call us on 101 or 999 in an emergency.

Please complete our survey on SurveyMonkey at https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/BedsPoliceHaveYourSay to help us determine our next Community Priority.
Kind regards
