Information sent on behalf of Bedfordshire Police

We are aware that the proposed event due to take place over this August Bank Holiday Weekend in the Northants area is causing some concern amongst our Rural Communities in Bedfordshire.

To our farmers / landowners - Northants Police are aware of the proposed event and are taking relevant action and planning into account.

The Northants rural crime team are aware and will be on duty all week, if any of you have any specific worries and or should get any intelligence then please forward it onto PC1248 Abbey ANSTEAD (details at foot of message) so that she can make the appropriate management levels aware.

Northants currently have teams engaging with the organisers, officers on overtime dedicated to this event for the whole weekend and specialist teams assigned to it as well. Any form of criminality that occurs will be looked into.

In the first instance, should anyone encounter issues with illegal encampments, hare coursing in Bedfordshire this weekend please report it to Bedfordshire Police via 101 but state that it is linked to Northants Op Bailey so that it can be linked up.

Many thanks

BEDFORDSHIRE RURAL CRIME TEAM
