Luton South and East Community Team - Round Up

Alert message sent 10/10/2020 17:42:00

Information sent on behalf of Bedfordshire Police

The Luton South & East Community Team have had a rather busy month or so, with lots going on from Stopsley across to South Luton & Farley.

We have successfully obtained 2 Partial Closures and 2 Full Closures on properties in Stopsley, Park Town and South Luton following one property cultivating cannabis; one displaying ongoing ASB problems and harbouring a wanted male; one at which we needed to safeguard a vulnerable member of the public; and the other at an address that was being used to deal Class A drugs from and bringing with it anti-social behaviour.

PCSO's on the team have also been out at hotspot burglary locations delivering some crime prevention advice to residents following a number of burglaries in the area. As well as this, local PCSO's have been letter-dropping in new build areas in Round Green and Crawley, offering the teams' contact details and advising residents should they need any assistance.

We've been conducting regular patrols around hotspot areas, as well as specialised late-night patrols in key locations. There were also concerns raised on social media this month surrounding safety around schools, and so our team were out patrolling around school opening and closing times to offer reassurance to parents.

Last, but by no means least, we recovered the below motorcycle from South Town after finding it abandoned and suspected to be stolen.

We'd like to thank those that have been in contact to offer any intelligence in their areas, and we'd encourage those that do witness or suspect any ASB or criminal activity to report to us through 101, online here or 999 in an emergency.

Thanks and stay safe!
